Tomato Pesara Pappu


Yellow Moong Dal:-1/2 cup
Chopped Onion:-2 tbsp
Curry leaves:-1 string
Salt and chilli powder:-as per taste
Turmeric Powder:-1/2 tsp
Coriander :-1 to garnish
Tamarind Extract:-2 tbsp
Chana and urad dal:-1/2 tsp
Mustard n cumin:-1/2 tsp
Oil:-2 tbsp
  • Mix chopped tomato,chopped onion and moong dal and add enough water and pressure cook them.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin,mustard,urad,chana,curry leaves and let them splutter.
  • Mash the cooked dal well and add it to the pan.
  • Add salt,turmeric powder,chilli powder,tamarind extract and boil for 5 min.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve with rice.

C'mon, where did you use the tamarind that you had in the list of ingreients?

jus add tamarind extract along with salt and chilli powder and boil..
