Well,,it's time I officially join Aunty's club...Yes,,it's my birthday today and I successfully completed 29yrs and entered my 30's....Life has been wonderful so far and I thank god for it and wish it continues the same...
I am never a fan of store-bought birthday cakes.Too much of artificial colors, thick frosting everything puts me off...Never in a birthday party I enjoy a full piece of cake..( My kid will be around to finish off what is left out by me anyways ;) )...But hubby and kid always loves the rich looking German chocolate cake and any such cakes..I do enjoy such cakes but my inner self always warns me when I think of the fat calories it is loaded with...but it will be sinfully delicious..So I thought may be I can try it at home where I can control the fat and hence can enjoy the max of it ..It may not be so rich looking but yet can satisfy the taste buds.
Making this cake and assembling is more fun..I baked the cake a day before and cooled it and prepared the cream and ganache next day...even hubby was interested to cream the cake and my kid was always behind to have a lick..she ate nearly 2 spoons of cream even before I could smear it all on cake...She constantly pestered me to cut it even before it was 12 midnite..isnt it tough to wait for time to run when an addictive cake is infront of u!!!well,we gave in and cut it at 11:30 pm..LOL...
So it's like I baked my own cake for my own birthday..well,should we call it a celebration for becoming an aunty ? Doesn't it sound oxymoronic ? ;) ...Never mind...I really never mind to put on age as to become old means to become a much matured self and I will welcome the changes there by.When there are so many exciting things yet to happen, like to learn to drive the car ,to see the kid go to play school and there by grow up to go school etc etc,who cares about the age..!!! At least,I don't....well,,let's not digress, let's see the recipe...
